Destination 13: PARIS, FRANCE


Welcome to the City of Light & the Capital of Fashion 
PARIS, FRANCE
PARIS has the reputation of being the most beautiful and romantic of all cities with full of stunning architecture, old churches, romantic cafes, spectacular monuments, art galleries and much, much more. Paris also is a large part of the city, including the River Seine, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Paris is the shoppers’ paradise where shopper cannot miss out. It is home to the world's finest and most luxurious fashion designers and cosmetics, such as Chanel, Christian Dior, Yves Saint-Laurent, Lancôme, L'Oréal, Clarins, etc.

Besides a shoppers’ paradise, Paris also contains numerous iconic landmarks.

This tower rises 300 meters tall (984 ft); when it was completed at the end of the 19th century it was twice as high as the Washington Monument, at the time the tallest structure in the world. This is one of the world's most recognizable monuments. During the sky turning dark, Eiffel Tower will look gorgeous with the light.

Louvre Museum 
Arguably the world's most famous art museum, the Louvre's most popular piece is Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa." It was established in 1793, and is one of the oldest museums in Europe. 
Spanning eight thematic departments and 35,000 pieces of artwork dating from the antiquity to the early modern period, the Louvre's permanent collection includes masterpieces by European masters such as Da Vinci, Delacroix, Vermeer, and Rubens, as well as unsurpassed Greco-Roman, Egyptian, or Islamic arts collections.

Centre Pompidou features a wonderful collection of modern art within its creatively designed building. It also features a cinemaconcerts and children's activitiesThe pipes and ducts are all color-coded: blue for air, green for water, red for elevators, yellow for electricity, gray for corridors and white for the building itself.

Climb to the top for one of the best views of Paris. Although it doesn't go as high as the Eiffel Tower, but since the city is relatively flat, the vantage point at this height is actually better

Sacré Coeur
The Basilica of Sacre-Cœur is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in Paris, France. It is located at the summit of the butte Montmartre, the highest point in the city. There is a story behind the building of Sacré Coeur.

Two businessmen decided to build a church in Paris if the war between France and Prussia ended without invasion of Paris. And so in 1875 Paul Abadie started to work on Sacré Coeur design. He was inspired by the Byzantine architecture and the white stone basilica was finally completed in 1914.
